Just thought id post a few pics on here of my latest acquisition - a well looked after 2002 Ricky 4003, in that year's Colour Of The Year, BurgundyGlo. Those of you who know me on here or from other bass forums probably know that ive had a hankering for BurgundyGlo for a long time, Cliff Burton obsession and all that! Couldnt find a 4001 or 4003 for love nor money (and I was prepared to spend A LOT of money on the right one) and then by chance a helpful soul on a UK Bass forum pointed me towards this lovely instrument which was residing in Germany. So, after about, oooh, an hour of deciding whether I shoudl or shouldnt, I pulled the trigger on this - even though I had obviously never played it... which is one of my golden rules of guitar buying, you gotta play it first! Well, im glad I did break the rule in this case, as this is a BEAUTY and it plays like a dream. Its now 10 years old but you really couldnt tell, its got a minor dink at the top right of the body on the binding but other than that its in splendid nick. "Made In America" sticker still present and correct, still had the unused warranty card in the case, the manual, and the Ric cloth - unopened!!!
Anyway - here it is. I am so pleased with it
As it arrived in case with candy... Better look at the BurgundyGlo through to the wood... Close up of the flaming effect on the headstock... And sat next to it's new friend, 1350w of Ampeg!
