Back in 2004, I bought this V63 after 15 years of being Rickless. It was a messed-up ebay deal that just fell into place for me. I sold it in one of my never-ending guitar-churning manuvers around 2008 to get a '69 4000, which I was never happy with. It was one of the few that I actually regretted. Luckily, John Allgaier still had it and I managed to get it back at the Mini-RIO get together a couple weeks ago. I haven't been this excited about a bass in a long time!

as I had the chance to express my opinion in other threads, the 4001V63 is the most successful bass made by Rickenbacker. Might be not as faithful in terms of vintage details as the C64 is, but for me it represents the best combination.
I consider my V63 overall significantly better than my C64S, in terms of playability and tone.
Glad your V63 has come back home
Wish some of your good fortune would rub off on me - I'd like to find the 450/12 jetglo that I sold to finance the rest of my college back in 1976. Stephen Stills bought it from my consigner, Stills evidently no longer has it and I've lost track of it. Sigh.
