Journey to the Center Of The Mind!
Why don't they write bass lines like this any more, let alone such great songs?

Well, you play bass; get busy!
There is no reason to ever be bored.

I think they're talking about drugs.

I know this song predates it,but this always reminds me of "hot smoke and sassafras" by Bubble Puppy. (another groovy guilty pleasure)

That would be another good one for the '60s psychedelia set we are working on.woodyng wrote:I know this song predates it,but this always reminds me of "hot smoke and sassafras" by Bubble Puppy. (another groovy guilty pleasure)

Back when this was a new song, it became one of my favorites and I wore the vinyl out.
Now I listen to it and say "Huh, what was I thinking?"
I must be getting old.

Greg Arama played bass on that. http://www.motorcitymusicarchives.com/amboydukes.html
At least you can still hear it. Sadly, that's more than Ted can say.johnhall wrote:Back when this was a new song, it became one of my favorites and I wore the vinyl out.

That's my old buddy Steve Farmer, second guitar, he wrote the song. In the late 70's he told me that he was still making enough money from that one song to finance his whole hippy dippy life style ! I think he is still active around the Detroit area.
