Great news!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

This is the kind of news that's inspiring to hear. (Too bad the gear stolen from Mitch Easter was never tracked down.) Now Tom can go on playing that lovely 1966 MG 360/12 at his shows! A happy day for all Ric players and legions of Tom Petty fans! :!:

And on a positive note we ended up with the serial number to Tom's RIC in the register! Glad to hear he is getting his guitars back!!

Which is bound to increase the value of other August 1967 MG 360s!!!

But I'm sure, if Mr. Petty asked that it be removed from The Register, it would be removed (just like anyone else)...

The thief did indeed walk into a pawn shop and sell the Gibson SG for $250!!!

Petty's management and the police credit the social media and people following the theft as the reason for the quick recovery...

The serial number was in an article, LA Times, I think.

I am sure Tom must be relieved that his cherished instruments have been recovered. Anything but a petty matter. Time to beef up security.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

So the thief tried to pawn one of the guitars for $250 when the "reward" for returning them was $7500 and "no questions asked?"
