I found this picture http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?id=23 ... pid=657704 on Rickenbackers Facebook page, and i am really wondering what kind of bass & guitar can be seen in the background. Any ideas?

As for what kind of bass and guitar can be seen in the background? Well, no actual kind, just a couple of experiments. The furthest back, the 6 string with the carved walnut body was described as "a bad idea", the bass, well, who knows. If they ever see the light of day, well, then and only then will we know any more. But my guess is that they were just playing around with some parts they had and that's about the end of the story. At least so far...

I think you're right, Kira. I'm guessing that photo was released with the purpose to show the Ruby off, but also to see how far we'd run afield with speculation on the other two. Cheap factory entertainment.
