Belonging to both Rick fora....

Post by Rickissippi »

Anyone here *not* also a member of the RIC corporate forum?

I sometimes want to ask this group and that group the same question, to canvass all my resources, but fear will rub some wrong with a semi double-post.

Just curious.

People post the same question n both all the time.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

I remember JH saying that if they saw the same post here and on the Rickenbacker forum then they would remove the one on the official forum. ....He wasn't being ackward or anything like that, just didn't want the same posts on both sites..............However you still see the same posts on both sites quite often.

Trying to police who posts what on what forum is an administrative nightmare. I do, however, see John Hall's point.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

At one point, I was a member there, but when I joined here, I never looked back. Like Ken, I'll also check in there on very rare occasions.

Interesting because the same questions/subjects get posted here ,there,AND on TB,too. I am a member of all 3,and i check in daily here and on TB,but only once in a blue moon over at the RIC site. I don't have a problem with seeing the same questions asked (unless they're being inflammatory and/or stoopid),because you will get different points of view from people who are not necessarily on all 3 sites. And Why are Rics so expensive, anyway? :|

I'm on the RIC forum and TB, check most fairly often, but don't always post on all...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I happen to be a member of the Ric corporate forum, too, but I haven't visited the site in literally years. To be blunt, I find it aggravating to use, and just not as well-organized as the RRF. Also, I can't stand when they automatically change the spellings of trademarked names. For instance, if you type "Curt Mangan" it will be posted "Curt Magnam," or if you type "Janglebox," it will be posted as "Jungelbox." I do recall seeing some of the same names on both forums, but for right now, this place is for me! :D

Never joined the corporate forum. Never seemed too active over there, and the old setup was pretty clunky...

Then again I belong to a NYGiants forum that uses software from like 15 years ago. You can't even edit posts on there, no HTML...it's primitive by today's standards.

Interesting. Was also just kind of curious how many would say they belong to this one and not the other.

TB???? TalkBass? As a six-stringer, I guess I wouldn't be a member of that one.
