Yes,he must have some kind of licensing agreement with Gibson because he makes them with both the "G" and Gibson logos on the headstock like this one he made for Ray Davies. Actually, the "G" is a Gibson logo too but I don't know the whole story.aceonbass wrote:Ahh...Didn't catch the different headstock logo. Too bad Gibson didn't trademark this. Yet another guitar builder showing a lack of originality by making money off of someone else's ideas.

Gibson isn't going to lease their trademarks so someone can make a copy of a guitar they already sell as a re-issue. Luthiers do this all the time, people slap 'Fender' and 'Gibson' on everything because they can get away with it.octagon wrote:Yes,he must have some kind of licensing agreement with Gibson because he makes them with both the "G" and Gibson logos on the headstock like this one he made for Ray Davies. You post over at the MyLesPaul forum, you've never been to the Luthiers Corner? Gibson "replicas" with open-book headstocks and Gibson logos all day long. Plenty of them for sale in the member classifieds there, too.octagon wrote:Ok,you know more about it then me.I didn't know they can do that. Ifound this guitar used at local store and I remember reading the the Premier Guitar article.
