Has anyone ever tried 2 jangle boxes run together? Thanks Gary

I have. I don't think there's any apparent sonic advantage.

That doesn't surprise me. Compressing something that is already compressed is like multiplying something by zero twice. It doesn't get any zero-er.

I've run two compressors...no advantage, just a lot of hiss and squealing feedback.

Running two compressors is pretty common in recording. Usually the first compressor would be set pretty low to just take some of the peaks off when recording tracks, and then a second compressor can be set to squeeze the signal more aggressively during mixdown. Then there may yet be a third compressor in the chain, a stereo buss compressor for the whole mix to go through. Obviously, none of this applies to playing out at a gig or in your bedroom!

Oh yes +1 to all this. I'm doing this extensively on the album I'm working on right now. but it's electro-pop, so YMMV!!! :)
