Why do people bid $300+ on horseshoe pickups on eBay, when they can get them for $200 directly from RIC (or PotR)?

Last I heard, you couldn't buy them from the boutique or a North American dealer unless you were in North America.

I've heard that they were working on changing this, so if you now can, perhaps people don't know about it yet...

Because people were paying $500 for them when you couldn't get them from RIC?
