1966 450 Wiring

Post by aceonbass »

I just finished rewiring this loaded guard assembly for a customer who first had it wired wrong by a restorer. The restorer did a nice job making the white acrylic guard though. The pickups are 70's high gains, the pots are vintage style CTS 250K for volume, 500K for tone and 5th knob. The caps are NOS 60's .047 Ajax "Blue Caps", and the wiring is cloth insulated 22 gauge pushback wire. I've tried to replicate the look of a 60's harness as much as possible. Anyone have similar picks of their own 60's 5-control harness to compare for accuracy? It seems like color of wiring is what varies the most. Oh, and the customer wanted the "vintage tone" option on the bridge pickup for more jangle when the knob is pulled.

I'm away Skiing at the moment, but I have a harness back home from a job I did for a friends guitar, he wanted just the stereo side so we decided to do a complete new harness with new pots etc and keep the original unharmed.

Just realised his was Rickosound two jack.
