Quick 3000/3001 question
Bodies of 3000 & 3001 identical, or is the 3000 slightly smaller? I can't recall.
Re: Quick 3000/3001 question
Some good comparison info here Kenny.

Cool, thanks.

If you need any measurements, just let me know, I have both sitting here in front of me.

Thanks David, I may do that.

I used to have both. Different body, so the balance in looks is good! Also three controls on the 3001. Jackinput on the side.

Yeah - how do the treble & bass knobs work? I've never plugged one in.Chris P wrote:I used to have both. Different body, so the balance in looks is good! Also three controls on the 3001. Jackinput on the side.

Re: Quick 3000/3001 question
On the 3000, there was a volume and tone knob with one pickup.
On the 3001, there was still only one pickup, but a volume knob and two more. The other two were advertised as a "bass boost" and a "treble boost," but they actually worked the opposite way; the bass boost was really a treble cut, and vice versa.

Is there a wiring diagram somewhere?bassduke49 wrote:On the 3000, there was a volume and tone knob with one pickup.

I think there's a wiring diagram for the 3001 on the Ric site.

Re: Quick 3000/3001 question
Interesting fun fact about the tone knobs! So would "diming" the tone knobs on a 3001 be counterproductive?bassduke49 wrote:On the 3000, there was a volume and tone knob with one pickup.

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

You'd be "Going For The One" instead, I think.rickyfricky wrote: Interesting fun fact about the tone knobs! So would "diming" the tone knobs on a 3001 be counterproductive?
