2009 660/12

Post by gareth »

So there's a new addition to the family to go along with the '67 450 and all the basses. I've always liked the 12 strings, but I think the 660 has been a bit overlooked in favor of the 330 and 360 models. This one came along at a price that was just too good to pass up, so I snapped it up. I haven't seen many in Azureglo, and this is a really deep one. It's almost black when seen in low light. It's a lot of fun to play, and the feel isn't a lot different from my 4008 bass. It sounds just like you'd expect, except that if you overdrive it, it turns into a power chord monster being a solid body. I'm going to have start learning some Byrds tunes I guess. :D

It is a 2009 620 12 with factory installed vintage tuners.

A 660 12 would have vintage pick ups gold plastic and a headstock that was not routered all the way through.

Easy to confuse the two!

Congrats on the nice axe...

Congratulations Gareth, that's a beaut!

And maybe the open back tuner slots make restringing just a bit easier.

Have fun

If there isn't a 12 string Rickenbacker playing at my funeral, I'm leaving.
