Seems On Back of Bass

Post by PrentissCarr »

Hi,

I just got a new JetGlo Bass. Is it normal to be able to see the seem of where the neck meets the body through the paint on the back? Its not cracked or anything I just can see the seem under the finish and was wondering if this is normal.

Thanks

Yes, it is normal, nothing to worry about. If you ever see cracking or separation, worry.

Yep, different pieces of wood expand/contract at slightly different rates or amounts and this will "print" through the finish. The finish has enough flexibility to handle this so there's nothing to worry about...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
