'67, '68 & '69 Side by Side Group Shot
I've had a number of people ask me to post some group shots of my basses.
Here's a group of consecutive year Fireglo's. From left to right, 1969, 1968 & 1967.
All are super clean & dead stock with their original cases.

Tony,
Never played any Rickenbacker older than a 73 but aesthetically I'm liking the shorter headstock (left bass non horsie) best!!
Dynamite trio!!

It's interesting seeing the subtle changes year by year. The upper horn on the '68 looks rounded compared to other ones, and quite similar to the newer upper horn on 600 series guitars.

Actually, the head stocks get shorter progressively.
The '68 is 1/8th shorter than the '67...and the '69 is 3/16" shorter than the '67.
The '67 is a full 8 1/2" long. The '67 is 8 3/8" long...& the '69 is 8 5/16" long.
The '69 is only 1/16" smaller than the '68.

Sweet! Thanks for posting!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Brilliant collection Tony.
On the headstock, I think by 70 they had become the shortest they got and all in 3 years!. (1970 = 8'', 1964 =8 1/2 )

Great shot showing the 3 year spread there.
Interesting to see the '67 appears to have the darker Fireglo shade, usually later in the year, rather than the lighter shade that usually is more prevalent. Or is it the lighting Tony?
