Origin of "Jazz-Bo"

Post by sloop_john_b »

Does anybody know if the name "Jazz-Bo" was used prior to the reissue prototype? I.e., were the original 50's ones in the museum ever known as "Jazz-Bo"? Thanks!

It is referred to as a Model 390 in the Smith book (pg. 183).

Yeah, the 390. (I still want a 380... )

A vintage 390 appears on the '97 catalog with the name "Jazz-Bo." I don't think the reissue proto was built until the late '90s-early '00s.

Looks like one of the early versions in this Smithereens video.

Indeed. I guess they added that TRC for the video.

That lead singer looks familiar...

To my knowledge there were at least two, and probably three, factory prototypes built of the newer version 760J.
