Favorite George Harrison Songs
Favorite George Harrison Songs
I didn't come up with anything when I searched the RRF for this topic, but I'm certain it's been addressed many times before.
My two favorite George Harrison songs ("If I Needed Someone" and "I Want to Tell You") are right here in the Concert for George:

(Unfortunately the third song is one of Harrison's least inspired: "Old Brown Shoe.")
I'm hoping others will chime in and list their favorites. Harrison was my favorite Beatle.

Re: Favorite George Harrison Songs
Great topic!
From his Bee-attle days: "Savoy Truffle"
From his solo work: (So many amazing songs to choose from) "All Things Must Pass" (the song).
And "Life Itself" (one of his many "spiritual love songs to God", as Eric Clapton describes them in Concert for George).

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Favorite George Harrison Songs
I agree with "if I Needed Someone" and "I Want to Tell You" being great songs. I would also suggest the following:
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Something
It's All Too Much
The Inner Light
Love You Too
and co-written with Eric Clapton, "Badge"
From his solo albums, a few favorites include
What is Life
Awaiting on You All (for that wall of sound)
Crackerbox Palace
Blow Away
Three obscure ones from 1968 for the Harrison fans digging for deep tracks include:
Not Guilty (didn't make the White Album cut)
Sour Milk Sea (written for singer Jackie Lomax)
Party Seacombe (Wonderwall soundtrack)

You have great taste, Rich!
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Something," and "Love You Too" would all occupy a place in my top ten Harrison songs.

Pretty much in agreement with a lot of them so far
Here are some I haven't seen:

Far East Man (co-write with Ronnie Wood)
That's The Way It Goes
This Is Love
When We Was Fab
Cockamamie Business
Any Road
Rising Sun
Handle With Care

Rickenbacker player since 1978
Re: Favorite George Harrison Songs
I'm a little surprised that no one mentioned "Within You, Without You."

Favorite George Harrison Songs
Yep ---- that Travelling Wilburys song is a favorite that we manage to play at every local So Cal jam. But technically, I think the writer credits was registered as Spike or Otis WilburyJakeK wrote: Handle With Care

Re: Favorite George Harrison Songs
"Handle with Care" is one of my absolute favorites, too.

Thank you, deaconblues, for the link to "Long, Long, Long." Believe it or not, I'd never heard it before. The song is haunting and beautiful and is one of Harrison's best.
