HB1 buzz
Pulled the 4003 4-2-5 out of the case after many months of storage. I have the HB1/Dane Wilder conversion. I don't remember the HBs buzzing before. I have the normal single coil buzz with the pots pulled/tapped but when I push them back down for humbucking mode they still have some buzz. Not single coil buzz but shouldn't they be dead quiet?

Re: HB1 buzz
Tapping by definition means bringing the center leads out of the pickup, which suggests that the hum is entering via those external leads or associated circuitry. A pickup tapping switch should have a grounded, metal shell for best results.
Re: HB1 buzz
Both my 4004's have Dane's conversions, and will pickup hum in the tapped modes, but are dead quiet in the untapped modes. Maybe something has worked loose since you last used it? It does sound like something needs checking under the hood....
