adding the bass cut cap to modern Ric

Post by danoadam »

I'm assuming that Rickenbacker stopped installing the bass cut cap on the treble pickup starting in '84, at the same time as other big changes like ending the x-bracing, sound right?

I'm considering adding the cap to my '90 330/12 to try and get a more vintage sound. Has anyone done this on a modern Ric with good results?

IV done the mod and I put it on a push/pull pot. You can take it in and out of the curcit if you like. I love it!!!! Have it on all my Ric 12s. Gary

I have done it, and I have pdf diagrams that I can send via email. There's a whole thread about it called "iiipopes vintage tone mod" on the RIC forum.
