That's it!! I am satisfied with my Rics and rig!!

Post by turlu »

Over the years, I probably put my hands on no less than 10 Rickenbacker basses and also experienced other brands as well such as Lakland, Washburn, Peavey and the list goes on.... same for the rigs, ranging from Peavey, Fender, Aguilar, G and the list goes on even longer.

I know I may still be in the lookout for other avenues in the future, however I can say I achieved my goals of Tone / portability at its best with this:
- Rickenbacker 4003W
Or my
- Rickenbacker 4004 Laredo Snowglo
Through:
- GK Fusion 500 head
- Darkglass Vintage MicroTubes ( a revelation to say the least! )
- Schroeder 212PL Cab

- Evidence Audio Lyric HG cables

Voilà!! I am done!!

I got the ' grit' from the Ric I
always wanted!!

I tell you everyone, the 4004L snowglo through the Darkglass VMT is magic!!! No need to carry the big SVT!!! Darkglass pedals really retain the low end and all the mids Rics are so good for!

Can you send me a sound sample? I keep hearing about how great these Darkglass preamps are but I have not had the opportunity to try, or hear, one. OF course I know that it is the Snowglo that produces the magic, really. :D

Jeff,

I would love to, however I don't have the recording tool to do it properly I am afraid so!!!

How can I record the true tone is what I have real problems with using the Line6 Pod recorder.

"Done"
Ha! ...for now. I have pretty perfect tone but I doubt I'll ever be done. Congrats on thinking you're done though! It's an awesome feeling

this could be IT for several years but most go through changes... and Rics seem to have a huge tonal range. You have the foundation to do whatever you want. Your rig does sound huge!
