Anyone know what bass amp(s) Paul used on the Wings tours, especially WOA in '76?

I think he was using a Fender PS300. That's a 300W tube head that weighs as much as an SVT.

Yeah, I think he's the type who uses anything people put in front of him. Luckily he was given a Ric bass and Vox tube amps when he was with The Beatles.

Yeah, he's been quoted as saying that...

I wish RIC would give him another bass. Maybe then we'd see him with one again.

Recent Rick’s given to PM if I'm not mistaken: 4004C, 4003 S/5 JG and a 4001C64S that was used on one song on Driving Rain! None to be seen live Image

Andy, I think you are right on the basses. I believe he has a Glen Frey 230 and a 360V64/12. He played the C64S on the song Spinning on an Axis. The 4004C, if remember correctly, was the first one made. I think it was a gift for Paul. It then went into production. John Hall may be able to clarify that. I think he plays the Hofner because it is more identified with the Beatles. Maybe it is easier for him to play because it is so much lighter. I would love to see his old 4001S on stage with him.

I agree Brian – I was fortunate enough to see the 4001S in 76 as a young pup in Madison Square! Another great evening!

As he would say, shinny slinky ones – they come out of a bag! Most speculate Pyramids!

haha! I know that Pyramids were original equipment on his Hofners and there weren't a whole lot of bass strings around back then. When I was a kid they stocked both Fender flats and Fender flats, and I just bought what ever they had in stock. I think if I remember right there were some Gibson flats around too.
