Pickup Qusetions - Bass & Mandolin

Post by byu »

Hello All,
I have a '72 4000 and the E string has a lower output than the other strings. The pickup is a screw top hi-gain, but from what I understand, these are not adjustable. I also have a '09 5002 mando and the E & G strings are lower output. I've been using a compressor to deal with levels and the output but it's not an optimal solution. Does anyone else have these problems and do you have a recommendation other than replacing the pickups?
Thanks!

That's weird about the 5002. Ive owned way too many of them and never had any issue even remotely close to that.
