I believe many of us visiting the Rickenbacker Registration Page have their "Beatle guitar collection." Peter has kindly invited me to post some pics of my guitars. Why don't we share some pictures with one another?
This is a 1962 Gibson J-160E.
Please visit
Tuck's Beatle Guitars and see some more guitars such as a 325V58 conversion and a 1965 Casino.

How about some of us in our personal "forest" of guitars?

That would be great, Mark! It's a forest that sings.

OK Tuck. Here is my 1996 Natural Epiphone Casino. I had Pyramid strings on this, in the beginning, but the connective tissue in my hands would not hold up so I have experimented with several different types including D'Addario, Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker. In the end, I find that SIT Pure Nickel Power Grooves 10-46 do the trick very nicely and they just sing with the P-90s. Extra points if you can tell me where the idea for the background of this photo was taken.

That's one helluva nice Casino you've got there.

Thanks, Tomcat. Now all I need to do is to reduce a 90K jpg to 15K. Will saving it as a gif reduce the size ?

Tim,
Not necessarily -- at least, not to the best of my knowledge. I think it depends more on the capabilities of one's image software (e.g., Photoshop, etc.).
However, if your image is already uploaded and online at a web address somewhere, its file size can easily be reduced in short order by utilizing some of the www's image reduction sites, such as the one at
HitBox.
If your image isn't online at a web address of some sort, or if you don't have any image reduction software, I'm sure one of us here on the Forum can reduce and/or post your image for you. (Send me an
[email protected] if you run out of options.)
Just be aware that reducing image file size usually sacrifices some image quality -- depending on the amount of reduction, of course, and whether or not image dimensions are also reduced.

Thanks again Tomcat. I have Adobe PhotoDeluxe and I guess now's as good a time as any to investigate it's capabilities. If I fail (highly likely) I'll take you up on your kind offer of help !

This is a nearly-Beatle guitar, an Egmond Bass 7, companion bass model
to the Rosetti Solid 7 (made by Egmond in Holland and re-branded by
Rosetti, the UK importer). Apart from the rounded horns it's very
similar to the Solid 7, and it illustrates that Paul McCartney's comment
about the fancy paint-job wasn't exaggerated : this Bass 7 has
miraculously survived in near-mint condition and the cherry-to-black
sunburst is lovely, offset by the white Royal scratchplate/pick-up
assembly. Hamburg-era fans may be interested in this picture to get an
impression of what Paul's Solid 7 looked like in colour.
Like the supposedly Solid 7 though, this bass is hollow, very light and
probably of hardboard (masonite) construction like Danelectros. I doubt
it would survive much serious gigging. I'm no bass-player, but I doubt
the sound would have given Leo Fender any sleepless nights worrying
about sales of the Precision Bass !
Paul has often mistakenly referred to his Solid 7 as a Lucky 7, a far
more common cheap Rosetti archtop model available in acoustic or
electrified format. Most British guitarists of his generation do the
same - Rosettis are known generically as Lucky 7's, the joke being that
you were Lucky if they lasted a week (7 days) !

Tim: It all comes back to me now. This must have been what Lennon meant when he said "I am the Egmond, I am the Egmond"

Egmonds bring fame and fortune ! Well, they started George and Paul off along that route anyway, so maybe they really are all "Lucky 7's" after all.
Thanks for the help with the pic, Peter.

Here are my two Rickenbacker guitars from my Beatles' collection that I thought others might be interested in viewing, a 1982 Model 4001S and a 1988 Model 325V59 in Jetglo.
