Other strings with purple wrap besides Pyramids?

Post by rictified »

I just got an 81 4003 and it has flatwounds with purple wrapping on it, they are very old, does anyone know if they are other types of flats with purple wraps at the headstock end besides Pyramids?

Hi Ronn,
Are they bright for a flat? These strings don't really sound like Pyramids, are they good strings? I've never used them before.

I have Precision Flats on a Precision (what else Image ) and I like them, but they're an older .055-.110 set. Nice tone, definitely not as bright as Pyramids or TIs.

I like them, and put them on my 4003. I get a bright "click" with a pick.
