4001v63 used price?

Post by jocke »

What should I expect to pay for a used 4001v63 if I find one? Just the standard finishes like Mapleglo and Fireglo.
Has their used price gone up since they where discontinued?
Anything else I should be aware of when looking at these basses?

until recently you could get one in good shape for +/- $1000 ... all Rics seem to be climbing these days ...

I may quit buying used Rics and buy some new ones ...

I've seen a few of them on Ebay go for around the price Marc mentions, if not more....

That's very true about the price. $1500 is about right for a V63 in good condition. That's close to what I paid for my V63MG not too long ago.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again

Unfortunately what was then is not so now.

I was too slow on that 4003 blackie because my Shadow was only $30 more.

Woulda/coulda/shoulda...

I would LOVE to get another 4001V63, but the creditors are drooling.

I paid a little more for mine than I should have at the time (around $1300.00) but they had been discontinued for over a year and I found her in a dealers new unsold stock list. I've managed to keep her dead mint too. I think their great basses and are a real sleeper on the market. I doubt that It will stay that way. My advise is to get one while you can.

Oh, I think I have located one in Mapleglo. I´ll see if I can get my hands on it.
I think I´ll have to live on noodlesoup for a few moths after such a purchase though.
I know it will be worth it as I had a 97 4001v63 I had to sell because I lost my job.
That horseshue is so great sounding. Like a warm more detailed Stingray but better. Lots of attack in the sound.

Welcome Rory,
Are you a virgin Rick user? Or do you already have the disease, with multiple Ricks under your bed?

Cheers people!
Wow, 800 quid isn't bad at all!
Am ashamed to admit that the only thing I have close to a rick is my MG I****z 4003 copy!
I suppose I could just go for a standard 4003 but the v63 just has that extra SOMETHING about it.
