The Byrds and The Buffaloes
I have read that The Byrds helped the brilliant Buffalo Springfield with equipment in their early days, does this mean that Rickenbackers feature on any Springfield albums. Off topic a little does anyone know what model Gibson 12 string Richie Furay played as it is a lovely looking guitar, kind of a 12 string 335.
My wonderful wife (Prudence) has just reminded me of the Live It Up -CSN tour and that Stephen was playing a Rick 12 string on -If Anybody Had a Heart. Roger McGuinn guested in the studio on that track and live Stephen just played his version of Roger.
Interesting how time can smooth the ego and allow that to happen.

Correct o mondo ,DR definately a Guild body ..the neck is a custom one that has a Super 400 fretboard .I would love to know who did it and when it was done .I loved the sound of it .I think Stephen still has it ...Cros has his own interesting 12sting...the Gibson Crest with Rick Turnerized everything .I would love to see a great shot of the tailpiece .THAT is a work of art .

The Stills 12string is a blonde/natural Guild Duane Eddy model ,the neck was replaced by someone and they installed a fretboard that has Super 400 Gibson style inlays on it .
The wiring is two Gibson Humbuckers and the typical Les Paul/L-5/Super400 circuit with an ES 355 varitone on the lower cutaway /horn.Grover tuners and a Gibson 6 string Tun-o-matic bridge.
The Crosby 12string is a Gibson Crest .This was an ES -330 body with Brazilian Rosewood veneer as the outer layer .That neck and the circuitry was replace .I believe that Rick Turner of Alembic (now Turner guitars of Santa Cruz Calif) did most of the work on it .The trapeze tailpiece is bronze (at least to my eye)not brass and looks like a casting .The electronics have changed over the years but I believe they are now EMG humbuckings also with a varitone type control. This guitar has been called the 'GLASS AVALANCHE' It also has a 12 saddle bridge.

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of this .
From Stephen and Neil's point of view ..."Last Time Around" was Ritchie just cleaning house and showing what he could do ....a fine job ,but not the band.So from that understanding ,it makes sense.I am hoping that the version of Rock'n'Roll Woman has the original Doug Hastings solo on it rather than the version we have heard all these years.

But here's the rub...
I also heard that all of the tracks which make up the first two releases are sprinkled chronologically into the first three discs.
I guess we'll see (assuming it makes it into stores, this has been long awaited and rumored without show before I guess).
I finally found a copy of EINARSON's book at my local Boarders and it was OK. Having read some reviews of it, I was prepared for the worst - but it worked for me.
Amazon appears to be confident it's going to make a delivery - they're taking orders for it and you can see the track list there.
There was also a cover story on it in ICE
