How to adjust old rod system?

Post by Rob_Ashford »

Sorry if this has been asked before. Based on Mark`s help i have adjusted the rods on newer Ricks, however, a friend of mine would now like me to adjust an underbow on his 1978 4001. As this is the old system i dont want to damage it. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks Rob Ashford.

Rob ,the old system method has been posted under ...how not to adjust the truss rods.Go there first .some how I am having a DeJa Vu on this with you .

If the aluminum bar is chewed up too much and the rods are bent into the cavity ,then repost and I will help you out .
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!

The last adjustment was for a CW 360 12string. This new request is for a 1978 4001. Because this is not my bass, and it has the old rod system i didnt want to damage it. I have already checked the set up from the thread you posted some time ago and yes i believe the rods need a tweek. You are rght Mark im not very confident with these matters, thats why i appreciate your expert opinion, and craftsmanship with all things Rick. Thanks Rob Ashford.
