I'm sure the reserve is around $1500 anyway.

I have a 1975 (QF) 4001FL BG in VG+ shape that I will be putting up for sale as soon I do a little work on it.

OK, here are some poor-quality ones:

I plan on taking some better ones, of course, before selling it.

That Moiré-like pattern on the silverface grillcloth is so bizarre...

Absolutely.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Gary,
The bass looks great, I've wanted to try a FL but I've never been able to get my hands on one. Did you hear from Kenny yet?

dedgoat, no word from Kenny yet.

The black plastic is original. I like how it contrasts nicely with the white binding and chrome hardware. Being that I'm mainly a rhythm player and only a hack bass player, I find the fretless basses great to play. I use a chromatic tuner when I practice on them to monitor my finger positions. Also, they are great for practicing against recordd material that is off-key.
