White Album Named "Best Acoustic Rock Album"

I just saw this on another forum and thought you all would be interested. Personally, I don't agree...while I do think there's plenty of great acoustic songs on there, there's way to much electric stuff on there to label it as an acoustic rock album.

I do have a question though, according to the person I talked to, "Dear Prudence" was one of the songs they brought up. Does anybody know what was used on that recording? I always thought it was a hollow body electric, but apparently it was an acoustic.

The main fingerstyle guitar playing was double tracked with the Casino and an acoustic playing the same lines throughout the song. There were many electric overdubs for leads and fills.

Maybe the acoustic is a Martin D-28, but it sounds
more like a Gibson to me .

I'm sorry, the name Casino doesn't ring a bell...what is that? Anyway, I knew the fills were electric, I'm just curious about the main part.

BTW, it was "Acoustic Guitar Magazine" that voted the album #1, I forgot to put that in the original message.

The Casino is an Epiphone Casino semi-hollow electric...John,Paul and George each had one; if John played the part that RobT talks of its probably the same guitar he played on the Apple rooftop session in 'Let it Be'...the acoustic part sounds slightly electrified...maybe the Gibson J-160E??

It stands to reason that it was the Martin, since the song was written on it in India, and since that was his preferred acoustic during that time period...
