"All I Really Want To Do " chord

Post by kvalois »

Hi, fellow Byrds fans:

Lately, I've gone back to playing "All I Really Want To Do" on my RM 370-12. BUT, what is driving me nuts is one chord on the song. It's on the chorus:

A D A
All I really want to do

F#m Bm ?
oo oo is BABY

D A
be friends with you

Can anyone come up with the chord when they sing "Baby." I have a Byrds DVD with McGuinn DEFINITELY playing a new chord for "Baby"-- but I can't see his finger placement.

Thanks,

Karl

I'm only doing this from memory (long time since I've heard it by the Byrds) but shouldn't that Bm be D (actually are kind of interchangable at least to a bass player, I can make a Bm a D with one loud wrong note, haha!) and wouldn't the next chord be an E?

Bob:

I'm pretty sure that all of the chords I mentioned are accurate. In fact, McGuinn on the video definitely plays an F#m to a Bm!!!! It looks like he might be playing a quick "E7" for the word "Baby."

It's E or E7, definitely.
