What Rickenbacker guitars did each member play, if they played any. I know John Fogerty played a 325, amoung others. I think one of them also played a 360/12. DO you guys know of any pictures of them showing their guitars? THanks in advance.

I think it was like 1969, the 2nd LP, "Bayou Country", with the "fogged "pics on the front,
the 3 guys all had Fireglo Ricks; John with a 325,Tom with a doublebound 360, and Stu with a Deluxe[binding and inlays]4001.I also saw them make their American TV debut on
American Bandstand around this time, and they all had those same guitars.I recall thinking that
an all Rick band in matching colors was very cool.
A H.S. friend of mine had just seen them play
their 1st gig here in Mpls., and he was just raving about how powerful they were live, very loud, with stacks of Sunn and Kustom amps.

Thanks Peter. By the way, your second link to John playing a Fireglo 325 is wrong in my opinion. Based on that picture and the fact that his shirt shows red, I think the 325 is a Jetglo. Just what it looks like. If I am wrong, then I appoligize. Thanks again.

Ben: I am certainly inclined to agree with you. While I have been fooled before by lighting, your comment that it is a Jetglo seems to be correct. Thanks for keeping the focus on quality control.

Does John Fogerty still own the Fireglo 325?

On his "Premonition" cd, which was recorded live, Fogerty comments that the 325 he was using was similar to, but not the same guitar he used in the 60s. However, the Kustom amp was the exact same one used at Woodstock & Albert Hall. The show was also televised a couple of years ago.

CCR and John F. were/are still one of my favorite groups (with or without Rics) Too bad things didn't work out better with the Forgerty Bros. and couldn't get along. Fame must be a tough thing to deal with and not get a big head. (won't every happen to me esp. playing a guitar he he)

Examples include the Fogertys, Chris and Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes, Ray and Dave Davies, etc. My own brother and myself split musically early on (teen years) and this phenomenon is curious to me. Fortunately for us, some of those familial greats make it back together for reunion shows/tours etc.

I saw the Everly Bros in about '84, and the tension between them onstage was obvious. I understand at one point (at least!) one of them threw down his guitar and stormed off stage!
