Let It Be DVD

Post by goldcomet »

I want to get a copy of "Let It Be" and it seems the only place to get a DVD is on Ebay. Has anyone bought a copy from Ebay. I'm worried about getting a poor quaility DVD-R even though some of the ads say it's an original DVD. I tried to order it from a couple of local stores and they're not able to. If any readers have bought one please let me know about what you got and if it's good enough quality.

Any that you see for sale are going to be bootlegs of some quality or other.

I don't know what they charge on eBay, but I know that www.superhappyfun.com sells them for $15 and rates the quality as an 8/10.

Mark

I had bid on one a couple of days ago, got beat, then got a "second chance" e-mail from them saying that the original winner didn't pay.....it was the same day the auction ended....I haven't responded to them yet...I'm not even sure I can play it on any of my 4 dvd players as mine are a couple of years old and they seem to have trouble playing newer dvd copies.....

I got a couple versions of a bootleg Let it Be- the one with the white cover on the Green Apple label is garbage- there's an audio skip in the middle and the picture quality is horrible. I got another with a black slipcase that's pretty good. I heard it was being released this year..

I suggest that you guys wait it out until most likely November when the 'real deal' finally gets released. I'm already preparing myself for a letdown on the official "LIB" release as I suspect the bonus material will be sparse or practically non-existant. If you guys want the word up on two of the HOTTEST Beatles DVD releases I suggest trying to be on the lookout for "The Beatles Chronology Volumes 1 & 2"! They are Japanese manufactured DVDs containing ALL of The Beatles promo films in the absolute BEST quality to date. I've seen them both, and they are simply STUNNING! A few folks were on Ebay selling them, and one sold for well over $150! If you find them at a decent price, GRAB 'EM!!! I'm not fooling, they're that good!

More than likely, the first release on DVD will be just the movie with a few extras. Then, a year later, they'll release a "Deluxe" version with tons of extras. Of course, those of us that purchased the first one will drop the cash on the second one too.

Then a 5.1 version, then a 10.2 version, then a "special" mono remix.

Thanks for the input everyone. I didn't know it was coming out in Nov and I'm going to wait for that one. I was worried about getting a poor quality copy and I'd much rather wait for an Apple release that won't have compatability problems with my player(X-Box).

FYI, Bill Gates said this week that within 10 years DVD's will be as obsolete as 8 track music tapes. Great.

I've got the Chronology set its way here actually... I'll tell you guys what I thought of it.
From what I also heard it's as good as Jeff says...

I don't know about DVD's but there are many good reasons that 8 tracks are obsolete, that was probably the worst way of delivering music ever, the frequency response was something like 100hz. to 10000hz, they stopped right in the middle of songs to flip to the other side, they sounded terrible. On the other hands LP's are still available and if you have good equipment and new records they sound better than CD's. So I guess if the mode of delivering the goods is good it'll still be around, if not adios. Many people predicted the demise of LP's and tubes also. LP's and tubes have a realness to their sound which cannot be duplicated with digital technology. Do DVD's have something unique about their delivery like that? If not see ya.

LOL Bob. Those were the days.
"She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah, [click, hiss, pop, rumble]yeah!"
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
