Rickenbacker 480
Iam trying to get an idea of the age of my 480 six-string. I hve owned it for over 20 years, but I am not the original owner..???
lazd: Please post the serial number here and from that we will be able to date it.

peter....thanks for the information. I have no idea as to the "station in life" this guitar has.
it does not seem to be one for the collectors, however, it has some history. Springsteen used it breifly during a rehearsal session (he hated it). again, thanks for your help. great job!! great site. I'll be bach.

Interesting. With a good story line the value of any instrument can increase substantially. Can you document that Springsteen played it?

peter, I have photgraphs of the session that were published. however, the only photographs with the 480 are after he swapped guitars with Bob Bandiera who, incidentally, has done session work with John Bonjovi and Cyndi Lauper. Bob, unlike Bruce, loved it and used it on several sessions and live appearances.
