SKB Case Problem

Post by byu »

I have several SKB cases (including a RIC acoustic) where the strap that holds the top open has come out from between the lining and shell. Now, when I open my case, the lid just flops back on the floor. This seems to be fairly common. Is there an easy way to repair this?

Is the SKB case the normal black case that you get with a Ric?
Because my case doesn't stay open and it annoys me... I can live with it, but are you saying they're supposed to stay open?

Yes they do stay open, at least mine does, for now.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I had one of them lame cases where it opened 180 degrees ... kinda annoying ... I repaired it with a hot glue gun ... I don't know how long it held because the case is long gone with a sold bass ... I have a silver reissue case that want to flop closed a lot of the time ...
