620 - 660
Hi! I'm new to this place and, as you're probably about to find out, new to rickenbackers in general =) I was checking out a ric for my next guitar, and I was wondering about the differences between a 620/6 and a 660/6. I know the 660 doesn't have ric-o-sound and has different pups, but how does this all affect the sound? I've only had the chence to play a 620, so a comparison to that would be very helpful =) Thanks.

You can always order a 620 with toasters.
The necks are different. . .
Other than that, the differences seem to be cosmetic. The 660 has wide inlays, checkered binding, and a gold pickguard + TRC. The 620 has white pickguard, smaller inlays, and plain binding.
Speculating here, but it seems that any sonic differences would come from the pickups. In other words, make a choice based on the neck, b/c you can always swap pups if you need to.
