To me it looks like a new Dearmond 2000 or Dynasonic would be a perfect replacement pickup for a Rick... Anyone ever attempt it. It looks as though the pickups might need a mounting hole drilled through it, otherwise seems a simple modification.

I was thinking the other way 'round. I have a Gretsch SynchroBassVI 6-string bass with Gretsch/TV Jones pickups. They look to be the same size as toasters, and I was thinking...

Filtertrons are definitley bigger than Rick Pickups. So the Rick pickups might not cover up the holes on your bass.
But putting Rick Pickups on the Dyna equipped Gretsch shouldn't require any modifications at all that I can see.
