Does the bass on this classic Led Zeppelin song sound like a rickenbacker to anyone else? I'm pretty sure Jones didn't use a ric for this song, so I'm wondering what effects he might of used.

It does have a bit of the sound of a Rick treble pickup with flats (at least to my recollection). JPJ used mostly Fenders and Alembics on stage, as I recall. I don't know what his studio bass choices were though.

That sounds like a Jazz Bass palm muted w/ a pick and some boosting in the mids. I can emulated that sound on my Jazzes, but choose not to at the moment... ;-}
