"325C64" on ebay (??)

Post by lawton »

Hey. Check it out:

I wasn't aware that these were on the market as yet? Is this legit? Or is this perhaps a V63?

??

I have a feeling this is one of those "speculation" deals like diecast that get sold before they are actually released.

They're not on the market yet, that's a V63.
He probably just went to Rics website and copied the closet thing he could find. The V series isn't on the site anymore. Great guitar though, love mine...
Someone here should snag it - perhaps we'll see more of these as people ready themselves for the C version.

Well I emailed him asking how he had gotten a C64 when the nearest published availability date is 2/1/05. He's not responded. If he does I'll post the response here.

I'd be thinking also that the V63s would be a bit cheaper with the C64s on the horizon and with the C58s running around $1200 or so on ebay right now. $1500 seems a bit much to me.

...and what's up with the accent vibrato on this one? It looks like he's bent it up for some reason...

I have seen several people try to sell v63's as C64's. I don't think the seller is trying to misrepresent the product, just like SPENCER said. If you do not receive a reply don't assume that he is trying to scam somebody. Not everybody is a fanatical as we are about Rickenbackers, and he MIGHT have actually used the RIC sight to figure it out.
"Here he is, come to pay homage to the Rickenbacker display!" (Said to me by owner Bruce at the "Great House of Guitars" in Rochester, NY)

Hey. He's responded saying that the guitar is a V63 not a C64, and with an almost-groveling apology for listing it incorrectly. He's apparently selling for a friend and seems to have taken the model information from the friend without doing any checking on his own (he's not a Rickenbacker guy). He added some comments about never having mis-represented anything before, etc.

325V63 it is!

Give the seller credit for changing the listing to include the corrected information. There are too many sellers that don't make such corrections!

Yep. It's always commendable to correct your mistakes!
