350/12v63 versus 355/12JL - is it the same guitar?

Post by karl_pando »

Hi there. I need help from a Rickenbacker expert.

I see the 355/12JL 12 string which was made in 1990, and the 350/12v63 which I presume production started for in 2000?

Are they identical guitars apart from the pickguards? From looking on the internet, they seem to be the same. Can any one who has seen them both in person comment?

Other than the pickguard and certificate I think you are right unless the JL has Lennon's pickup wiring. I would hope if someone owns a JL they would chime in here. I have a 97' catalog that shows this as a "350V63 Liverpool 12".
