Hartke Strings

Post by rob »

I have a set of Hartke roundwounds that I'm planning on using soon. I paid 3 bucks towards the shipping cost and got the set for free. Anyone ever try these yet from the offer in Bass Player magazine a while back? I'm just wondering what you think of them. Are these any good?

Yeah I used them - I got the same freebie deal from the Bass Player ad.
I didn't really like them...they were OK when I first put them on my 4003, but they had no real character of their own & they "died" quicker than any other strings I've used in recent memory.

But hey, 3 bucks?! No great loss...

This set was sitting around collecting dust, so I was thinking about trying them out. Maybe I'll keep them for my Fender bass instead.

they make a good 4 string set ... but don't buy their 5 string set ... the low b is dead on every set I got ... but the other 4 were quite nice ... music 123 or ams or some online seller was selling the hartke strings at a very good price ... for those of you who have a lot a basses this is a good way to string them up with fresh strings and not break the bank ...
