"Celebrity has its attendant advantages, however. When his mother was casting about for a 30th birthday present for Epstein last December, she decided on a guitar because he had learned to play a bit while he was working in San Diego, she said. She didn't know what kind to buy, so she called the manager of Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of Pearl Jam. Epstein, a Pearl Jam fan, is now the proud owner of a Rickenbacker to go along with his team's World Series title."
