Stain on neck from stand
I picked up a second Ric 4003 in fireglo to go with my mapleglo. I've been using the fireglo and letting the mapleglo sit on a guitar stand. When I picked up the mapleglo after a week or so of sitting on the stand, there was a black stain on the back of the neck from the tubing on the stand. I hope I will be able to get the black stain off the neck. Now my question is do any of you use different material over the black tubing on the stands, to prevent this from happening. Great site, I've only posted hear a few times, but I read it everyday. A LOT of good info. Thanks for any help.

I've had a similar problem with the black leather end of a guitar strap transferring black to adjacent binding when the strap was left attached to the guitar while it was stored in the case. I haven't tried to do anything about it so far except to leave all straps off bound guitars.

My white 4003 has orange "burns" where it was hanging on a wall hanger. It was like that when i bought it used so i dont even care. But it wont ever come out

Paul used cloth tennis racquet grip wrap on his stands, hot pink as I recall. My wife has sewn some cotton sleeves which slip over the contact surfaces, seems to work well. Someone else here bought some cheapo leather work gloves and cut the fingers off to use on their wall hanger, which is a great idea.
I had the finish on a Les Paul eaten down to the wood by the tubing on a wall hanger once, I hate when that happens.

Some use "Dr. Scholl's" mole skin to wrap the stand.
It has an adhesive backing which does not seem to react with the finish. It is easy to find in grocery or drug stores, at least in the US.
I have not tried this but I am going to check it out.

Here is the link to the product. A strange feat has been accomplished.
