GFS 'Jangle' pickups

Post by aristeas »

Has anyone tried these pickups?

I'm upgrading my Korean Gretsch Synchromatic Sparklejet with new tuners and I'm considering one of these for the bridge p/up. The stock pickup works great in the neck slot, real '50s rockabilly bite and 'ceramic' chime. The bridge isn't so good - thoughts anyone?
Thanks, Aris

I scored a few GFS Retrotron Liverpool pickups ... they are a pretty good copy of a toaster ... scatterwound with a toaster top and shape ... inside a bar magnet with a steel rail ... basically a toaster look and sound but a little louder and hotter ... and it is a little bigger in size ... but they still have jangle ...
