when no matter what bass I pull out to play, I end up using the 4003.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

Didja ever notice that as good as they feel when you first get 'em & you say "Wow this thing plays great."
Oh, I dunno... about a year later you find yourself at a gig or rehearsal & it all of a sudden plays even better?!
I mean it's more than just the breaking in period - it's like it just adjusts itself to you & your playing style.

At least that's where I'm at with my '03 Montezuma Brown 4003.

Another sign could be what happened to me 3 days ago.

There was a chemical spill at an industrial park near my house & they evacuated everybody within a 1.5 mile radius. At 2:15AM the cops come by & tell us we had to leave.
So, I grab the girl, the dog, my wallet & the 4003 (not necessarily in that order!)& find a hotel.

And the 4003 didn't actually make it into the bed in the hotel room, but it was damn close!

True story y'all.

Merry Christmas guys!

You know you're hooked on Rickenbackers...

... when you say "Oh, My God - What a gorgeous neck" every time you pick up your 4001.

...when you find it IMPOSSIBLE to pass one in it's stand & not to touch it as you go by!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

When you suddenly find you have seven of them but have no recollection of how they came to take over the living room...

My band was playing in a lowlife dive back in 1979 when gunfire broke out. I gently put my 4001 in it's case BEFORE i dove behind my amps for cover...
