Chrome Pickguards

Post by SteveB »

Hi, I'm new to the forum, started by answering some other peoples question. About time I asked a few of my own! I bought my 4001 about 6 years ago, it is a 1974 Burgundyglo with chrome hardware. The pickguard is also chrome, not the usual white plastic. I would like to hear from other Rickenbacker owners, either guitar or bass, with similar peculiarities. Don't know if this is a factory feature or retro fitted later. Any ideas?

Chrome guards were made by Schecter Guitar Research in the 1970's and early 1980's.

Part number R063A they retailed for $48.00 in 1984.

This is from their catalog of 1984.
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
