Rickenbacker 450 repair question

Post by petew1108 »

I just got a hold of a 1965 Rickenbacker 450, and I need some input on a repair issue.

As you know, it's a neck-through-body solidbody model, with the body constructed in three pieces. Here's what's up: it appears that the top
piece, closest to me, has shifted a little bit to the rear, right at the point where the neck aligns with the body. You can see it when you look
at the back. That has made it difficult to get the action on the fretboard even and uniform.

In terms of repair dollars, how much do you think it will cost to get that top section moved to where it's flush? I'm ready for much bad news, so give it to me straight. And if anyone could recommend a luthier near Louisville, Kentucky that's good with Rickenbackers, I'd appreciate it.Image
