"Some finish imperfections, but none that go into the wood?" The whole lower part of the guitar has had the finish gnarled off of it and that is a "finish imperfection"? Interesting wear pattern, must have used it for a stand-up bass, or used a chain for a guitar strap!

It turns out that FG is somewhat rarer on this bass than others. What with 10% of the finish missing and all. :-)

That is what I thought at first but the edges of the damage appear to have been chipped away. It does look a bit like water damage in the pics.

Hi All, this is my 1st success at posting I believe. Gremlins ! Anyway not only is the finish wrecked, but look at the shipping rates. The shipping to Europe is quoted as $299 which with the strong £ to $ ratio is £160 which is nothing short of extortion! It should be approx half of that.

I have watched this seller buy things off ebay before and sell a few and this seems to keep going back and forth...

Welcome to the forum Keith. Bet you didn't know you had a rare finish (FG) did you? "There is a wealth of information on the web about these classics, so I won't bother going into all the specs etc". He sure must not have read any of the said "wealth" of info. I can't remember who was talking awhile back about the clown that stood on the horns of his RIC and spun like a top, but could this be the bass?
Is everybody ready?

I wouldn't call it rare, but it took me quite awhile to find someone that actually had one in stock when I wanted one.

Thankyou for the Welcomes Jim and Randy. Must say Jim....I much prefer my mapleglo to the fireglo. Its all personal taste though eh? Being honest THE ONLY Ric I didnt like the look of, was the Tux. Dont berate me everyone ! That one just didnt push my button.

Hi Keith, no problems, I'm not keen on the Tux either, for that matter any exotic, non Fireglo finish, Mapleglo for me is just a Fireglo waiting ot be finished right !!

For the record if I ever got say, a 4002, or a 4001-cs, I'd have them refinished in Fireglo, sick I know !!
