Hello everyone; Mike D. here with something to report. My daughter, Lucinda, has mentioned to me a few times that she's the only one in the family who doesn't have a decent guitar on which to practice and learn. Yesterday was her fifteenth birthday, and as she has really admired my recent Rickenbacker aquisitions, ("It's beautiful!" - the 360/6 FG; and, "That's so cool!" - the 325v59 TUR.); and rather than give her a cheap, non-descript clone guitar that would probly only frustrate a student, with lousy action and tuning problems, we presented to her a new (4/01) Rickenbacker 620/6 JG! She was very suprised and thrilled, and it was a thrill to give her such a fine gift. She plugged into an amp we 'just happened' to have standing by and played "Louie, Louie".(She didn't sing!) It was great fun.
Once again, as far as I can tell, I bought a fine guitar. Well crafted fit and finish. The action is very playable, but I'll lower it a little more and I don't anticipate any problems. And of course, there's that distinctive sound and styling that make Rickenbacker guitars 'so cool'. Well, that's the news for now. I'll introduce Lucy to the Forum soon. As ever, best regards to all you Rickheads.

The best birthday gift ever. You may start a trend.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Congrats, Mike
I missed out on my daughter since she never cared for playing guitar, but I'm starting anew with my 9 year old granddaughter. I'm getting her lessons now and when she is ready I have promised her a nice electric guitar. She doesn't know it will be her own Rick. She thinks she will have to wait and inherit my 340/12 when I pass on. Boy, is she in for a big surprise! I can't wait to get her into the Rickhead family.

Nothing compares to the sound of a Rick 12 with a JangleBox and a touch of chorus.
