Who here still has the bridge cover on their RIC? I've taken all of mine off because I can't hand mute like I want to with it on. Sad really, it looks so good with it on.

Mine is on. 12-string. So's the label--for now. But soon I'll peeeeel it off.

Exactly the same as Lee, for the same reasons.
I have also taken it off of my 4003, as being a finger player, I rest my thumb on the edge of the pick up. If you rest it on the cover, it forces you to play too far towards the bridge. It seems that right under the cover is the 'sweet' spot.

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

On 6-strings, mine are on - off again, and mostly off. On my Carl Wilson 12-string it is on an will probably stay on. It's more natural for me not to mute with the 12. BTW, I was looking at the radius of the bridge on my CW last night and thought it would be very comforatble is the the cover was shaped the same as the bridge and the corners more rounded. It would also get your hand closer to the strings for a more natural feel. I think it would complement the style/design nicely. Just a thought. My guess is its already been thought of, suggested and declined
