Can anyone throw some light on aCD I purchased in Spain. It is on Laserlight and is entitled The Byrds Alternate takes - it has tracks like MyMarie, Hits medley, but is I am certain not the Byrds, possibly a offshoot group

Roy: Based on the information that I have been able to find thus far, Alternate Takes is not an official release. It is apparently a mix of remakes of old Byrds tracks done by a fake band pretending to be the Byrds. While frowned upon by many Bryrd experts, I understand the CD contains some unreleased studio quality tracks done by Gene Clark and Pat Robinson during the 1980s. I hope this helps.

Roy: I also have learned that Mojo Magazine did a review of this release in a recent issue.
