360 sounds
I've found some cool sounds for playing or recording rhythm guitar with a 360 with hi-gain pickups. I turn up fully the volume & tone for both pickups and turn the volume on the amp to a low level where I can sing along without amplification. First position chords just ring out of the guitar. I think that using just enough amplifier volume as needed rather than blasting the amp and turning the guitar volume down really makes this particular kind of guitar sound better. The 325v59 doesn't have the same ringing quality but the same approach to guitar/amplifier volume applies. I haven't yet had a chance to try my daughter's new 620. Anyways, I'm having some low-volume fun. Best to all.

I've recorded my 360/620 that way for the past ten years - best way to do it. Also, less variables to get lost into...
I used to have a Boogie QuadPreamp+amp setup ; now only the Quad - straight in the board. Even better since I put HB1 minibuckers on the 360.
These are great guitars - I even convinced a straight jazz player recently !

I practice with my 360 & 660 a lot like that because I play at home and late at night - neighbors ... I use a Tech 21 Trademark 10. By playing low and maxing out the guitar vol & tone, you can get a very nice/crisp sound by going "british"/clean/UK and cutting heavily on the drive and keeping the overall volume cut too. Not only does it make playing the rythm sections of songs doable at low volumes, it helps the single coil (toaster or hi-gain) come to the plate for bluesy leads. I have found that this amp has been a super tool, especially with a polyvalent ric. The only thing that is a disapointment, is that they did not do a vox simulation (just fender, marshall & mesa boogie). I had a vox pathfinder s/s, but it did not do much for me.
I have yet to run into anyone on the boards that uses this amp. I tried its big brother the Trademark 60 in nYC with a ric 360/12/64 and it was just super.
Peace,
Dave
